DiscStudio Software: How We’ve Improved a Free Label Design Program

DiscStudio, US Digital Media’s free label design software provided here at CDROM2GO has undergone a minor facelift in order to bring you the customer more options for creativity and easier navigation. When it comes to creating professional inserts and labels, Disc Studio is the go-to software for DIY CD, DVD and Blu-ray duplication printing.
At CDROM2GO, our work is never done when it comes to customer satisfaction and we’re always trying to build off and improve from the feedback we receive. So, the result of a handful of your FAQs and a dash of design wishes is the recipe for a new DiscStudio. We hope the changes will address some user frustrations.
A majority of the changes are quite subtle and may not be instantly detectable to every user, but nonetheless impact the way you use it. However, a few user-friendly software changes you may notice that are worth mentioning:
- Our menu/design palette has traded spaces. Your drawing tools now reside on the right hand side of the screen instead of the left. Here, you can also select a grid to assist with alignment as well as reshape, size or move an object.
- More text flexibility! Before, DiscStudio let you bend and twist your label or insert text any which way, but you could not simply rotate it in a straight line. Now you can! Rotate text clockwise, counterclockwise or to any degree you may choose. The change in text orientation is ideal for spine text, which was often a customer request.
- Additional fonts, backgrounds and art. We understand the importance of putting a personal touch on your disc labels and packaging inserts. Therefore, a boost in the art and text department gives you more flexibility in creating unique label and insert art. You’ll find these items in a subfolder of the application’s folder and they are displayed visually as thumbnails for easy selection.
Keep in mind that customer or not, DiscStudio is free to anyone who has the computer compatibility to download and use it. So, what are you waiting for?
