Accutower LightScribe Plus DVD-CD DuplicatorLast year CDROM2GO unveiled the Accutower LS, which was our first-ever line of LightScribe compatible towers. Not only do customers love them, but we have written about them extensively over the past several months. Now, it’s time to take things to a whole new level with the Accutower LS+ DVD/CD duplicator tower.

What exactly is the Accutower LS+? (Note the plus sign). At first glance, it doesn’t look all that different from the LightScribe towers we introduced last year. It’s got the same great 22X SATA burner drives, the same easy-to-use menu, and the same 250 GB hard drive as the standard tower. Just think of it as the next step up from the Accutower LS, because it does everything the Accutower LS does PLUS a little extra!

The most obvious difference about the Accutower LS+ is the USB port on the front of the control screen. This port has two functions: it allows you to quickly create LightScribe artwork without burning the image file on a disc, and it also allows you to burn data files to the target drives directly from a USB drive.

It takes no time at all to get the hang of the LS+ tower with USB. When you want to copy data from a USB drive, just connect your drive and load in your blank CD or DVD discs. When you press the button marked “USB” on the controller, the green light illuminates and the tower begins copying almost instantly!

Once the burn process is complete, the discs will eject from their drives ready for use! This is a big time saver if you produce a lot of data discs or have master discs where the content changes frequently.

It is important to note that the Accutower LS+ (and every other duplicator on the market) cannot take a USB drive full of MP3s and burn it as an audio disc – that is still not possible. Additionally, it is not yet possible to load ISO images or LightScribe Image (LSI) files to the tower’s hard drive.

However, the USB port is extremely useful when burning LightScribe artwork. It is much easier to drag and drop your LSI file to the USB drive and connect it to the tower than to burn a CD every time you need to change out your disc artwork.

Finally, the Accutower LS+ has two extra buttons on the controller which are user-programmable. These “Smart Keys” can be adjusted to perform a quick function such as opening all of the drives or quickly loading a master disc to the hard drive. This is a very cool feature that I have not seen on any other towers before.

If you’re looking for a deluxe LightScribe DVD/CD duplicator that does it all, look no further than the Accutower LS+! You can order the LS+ with 1, 5, or 7 recording drives from and receive free ground shipping and a free pack of CD-R media.

UPDATE: Accutower LS+ duplicators have since been discontinued and are no longer available as of 2012.
